A 15-year-old boy was shot in the thigh Wednesday night by someone possibly riding a bicycle.

Charleston police responded to a reported shooting about 8:55 p.m. and found the victim lying on the steps in front of a home at 8A Senate Street with a gunshot wound to his upper left thigh, according to an incident report released on Thursday.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing all black clothing, riding a bicycle.

Officers searched the area but didn't find a suspect or evidence of the shooting, the report said.

The boy's name has not been released. His injuries are not life-threatening.
