MYRTLE BEACH — A 55-year-old woman has been shot and wounded during a robbery attempt while she was shopping on Black Friday at a Myrtle Beach store.

Police say the 55-year-old woman was shot in the foot after two men demanded her purse shortly after 1 a.m. Friday near a Wal-Mart store.

Another woman told police the victim and a 25-year-old man were at their vehicle when she heard the victim scream.

A police report says the second woman went to her car and got a gun and fired several warning shots into the air and the suspects ran with the victim’s purse.

The woman was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. There was no word on her condition. Her name has not been released.

Police are looking for the suspects.
