WALTERBORO — Walterboro public safety officials arrested a 31-year-old Ehrhardt woman on an attempted murder charge after she allegedly fired a gun at a man who confronted her for driving recklessly.

The man told police that he approached Sharon Brabham at Walgreens on North Jeffries Boulevard to discuss her driving along Bells Highway, when she pulled out a handgun and shot at him. Brabham admitted to firing the gun, according to an incident report.

An officer found a .380 handgun in the center console of Brabham's white 2007 Hyundai, according to the report, and a spent round in a nearby flower bed. That round hit another man's car, the report says, damaging the rear pillar on the passenger's side.

Officers arrested Brabham on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm in commission of a violent crime, discharging a firearm in city limits and malicious damage to a vehicle. They took her to the Colleton County Jail.
