Patchy fog could blanket portions of the Lowcountry today, especially inland, according to an alert from the National Weather Service.

Motorists should expect the fog to last through 9 a.m., the alert says. Visibility will occasionally be less than 2 miles.

The Weather Service predicts less than a tenth of an inch of rain though 8 a.m. Precipitation is forecast to come in a line of showers extending from St. Stephen to North Charleston to Yonges Island.
