ANDERSON — Sheriff's deputies have seized more than $100,000 in counterfeit goods after raiding a South Carolina flea market.
Multiple media outlets reported that sheriff's deputies raided the Anderson Jockey Lot and Farmer's Market earlier this week, seizing merchandise from eight vendors.
No arrests have been made and the vendors' names have not been released.
Sheriff's Lt. Garland Major said Wednesday the booths were closed and operators could be charged with distribution of counterfeit goods or illegal distribution of recordings.
Officials say they seized more than 3,500 illegal copies of DVDs and compact discs. Fake clothing with names including Air Jordan, Coach, Nike and Ralph Lauren also were taken.
The secretary of state's office says the investigation followed a consumer complaint.
