Now that Gov. Nikki Haley has held her first town hall meeting in Charleston, U.S. Rep. Tim Scott will hold one here Tuesday.
Scott, R-S.C., said the event will focus on the budget battle playing out in Washington — specifically the repercussion of Congress’s funding government through continuing resolutions.
Scott said this week's budget vote was another step toward reducing federal spending, but “to truly get our fiscal house in order, we need a long term strategy that reforms our entitlement programs.”
His town hall meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Charleston County Council chambers, 4045 Bridge View Drive in North Charleston.
Scott’s First Congressional District includes parts of Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Georgetown and Horry counties.
