BOILING SPRINGS — Two North Carolina men have been killed in a wreck in South Carolina.

Officials say the wreck happened shortly before noon Monday on state Highway 9 an Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County.

The coroner’s office says the victims were 43-year-old Jerry Glenn Norris Jr., of Rutherfordton, N.C., and 44-year-old Clarence Junior Matthews of Asheville, N.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Scot Edgeworth says the men were not wearing seat belts.

Coroner’s investigator J. Dwayne Corn says the men died from head and internal injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment. Edgeworth says she was wearing a seat belt.
