MOUNT PLEASANT — Police have arrested two more men in connection with a Saturday morning robbery of a McDonald’s restaurant in which a manager was shot.
Deron Moultrie, 22, of McClellanville, surrendered to investigators on Wednesday and was charged with armed robbery and attempted murder, police said.
George Herman McClain III, 24, of Awendaw, was taken into custody this morning and is being charged with accessory before the fact of armed robbery for his alleged participation in planning the holdup. McClain is an employee of the targeted McDonald’s at 3060 Ironclad Alley.
Investigators previously had arrested Timothy D. Taylor, 20, of McClellanville and Joseph B. Whiteside Jr., 27, of Awendaw. Both men face robbery charges. Whiteside also faces an attempted murder charge, police said.
Two men, one armed with a pistol, entered the McDonald’s early Saturday, demanded money and shot the manager twice, while a third stayed outside in a later model, two-tone Crown Victoria, according to police. The manager’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
No more arrests are expected in the case, Capt. Stan Gragg said.
