Charleston Angler Saltwater Experience
The Charleston Angler will host its Saltwater Experience from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 24 at the Shimano Experience Center, 9550 Palmetto Commerce Parkway, Ladson. There is no admission charge for the event which covers fly, inshore and offshore fishing and rigging. Seminars include: Nearshore, Capt. Ben Floyd, 10:30 a.m.; Fly Fishing, Capt. James Island Elementary Fishing Tournament
The James Island Elementary School Fishing Tournament, hosted by the Charleston Coastal Anglers, will be held from 8-11 a.m. March 24 at the school pond. Fishing is open to anyone but only elementary age children are eligible for awards. Fish that are eligible for the tournament are bass and bream and must be caught by the child. You may bring your own fishing gear and there will also be fishing gear and bait provided if you do not have your own.
Creekside Bassmasters Spring Fling
Creekside Bassmasters will hold their 10th annual Spring Fling Bass Tournament March 24 out of Black's Camp on the Santee Cooper lakes. Blast-off will be at safe light with weigh-in at 3:30 p.m. First place is guaranteed $5,000. Contact Brian Crenshaw at 843-509-2942.
Charleston Outdoor Fest
The 28th Charleston Outdoor Fest will be held April 21-22 at James Island County Park. The event features on of the country's premier showcases of canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) along with numerous other outdoor recreation activities including mountain biking, slack lining, archery, climbing and disc golf. Charleston Inshore Anglers Sheepshead Tournament
The 26th annual Charleston Inshore Anglers Sheepshead Tournament will be fished April 28. The captain's meeting and registration will be held April 26 at Smoky Oak Taproom, 1234 Camp Rd., Charleston and the weigh-in will be from 4-5 p.m. April 28 at Smoky Oak. The entry fee is $35.
