Trophy Case: June 5, 2022
Brothers Ross and Miles Cary of Mount Pleasant with a good catch of mahi mahi they caught recently off Charleston aboard the Hydrosphere. They caught the fish pulling ballyhoo baits.

Scott Maucher and the mate of the Makaira out of Casa Vieja Lodge in Guatemala release a sailfish on a recent trip he took with his father, Mike Maucher, and cousin Ray Maucher. Over the course of three days of fishing, they fought more than 110 sailfish, successfully releasing 94. Scott also caught and released a Pacific blue marlin and the crew caught numerous mahi mahi (dolphinfish).

Dave Nehf of Western Springs, Ill., caught and released this redfish on May 27 while fishing from the surf at Folly Beach. He used mullet for bait.

The crew of the Hydropshere with the heaviest blue marlin caught during May 28 during the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament, the first event in the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series. The fish weighed 532.1 pounds and earned the team $98,753.

The crew of the Mister Pete with a 481.6-pound blue marlin caught May 26 during the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament, the first event in the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series. Mister Pete's catch was the second-heaviest blue marlin weighed in the tournament.

The crew of the Mack 900 with a 392.8-pound blue marlin caught May 26 during the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament, the first event in the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series. Mack 900's catch was the third-heaviest blue marlin weighed in the tournament.
