GOOSE CREEK -- A man suspected of robbing a gas station at gunpoint early today was arrested within minutes after the alleged robbery by Goose Creek police officers who were responding to the call.
About 12:20 a.m., police were dispatched to the Sunoco gas station at 200 St. James Ave. for a reported armed robbery, according to a police report. As officers were enroute to the gas station, a dispatcher broadcast a description of the suspect, who was spotted running between some nearby buildings. Officers chased the suspect down and arrested him in a nearby apartment complex, the report said.
The clerk identified the suspect as the man who robbed him. The clerk told police the robber had pointed a gun at him while he, the clerk, was outside the store and then ordered him back inside and demanded money.
Aaron Devaughn Green, 19, of Water Oak Drive, is charged with armed robbery. He was being held in the Hill-Finklea Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
