MOORE — More than a dozen students were taken to a hospital after a school bus was hit from behind on Interstate 26 south of Spartanburg.

The wreck happened about 8 a.m. Friday at I-26 and U.S. 221 near Moore.

Spartanburg District 6 spokeswoman Cynthia Robinson says there were 37 students on the bus, and 15 were taken to a hospital to be checked for neck and back pain.

Robinson says the other 22 students were put on another bus and proceeded to nearby Dorman High School. One preschool student going to a child development center was not hurt. Neither was the bus driver.

Traffic was backed up for several miles as one lane was blocked by the wreck.
