Zollweg sinks hole-in-one at Augusta

  • Updated

There probably isn’t a golfer alive who would not have whipped out their cell phone and done exactly what Josh Zollweg did last Thursday.

Zollweg, 38 and the owner of Moss Construction, got an opportunity to play Augusta National Golf Club and made his first hole-in-one. He used an 8-iron on the par-3 sixth, which was playing 174 yards.

“He just broke the ‘no phone’ rule and called me practically in tears,” said his wife, Chrissy.

Zollweg has been involved in the golf business in Charleston and got his opportunity to play Augusta National as a bonus for being picked to work as a volunteer for the Masters. He was playing with fellow volunteers Clark Coker, Doug Ruggles and Bobby Maronick.

And, oh yes, he shot 75 for the round.
