Caroline Wozniacki, the 2011 Family Circle Cup champion, will play in next week’s Family Circle Cup tennis tournament.

The tournament has extended a main draw wild card to Wozniacki, who is the ninth-ranked player in the world. This will be her fourth appearance in the Family Circle Cup, where she boasts a 12-2 record and an active five-match win streak.

“We are thrilled to welcome Caroline back to Charleston,” said Eleanor Adams, Family Circle Cup tournament manger. “We know our fans will be excited. She’s a talented, young tennis star whose personality makes her one you love to watch.”

In 2011, she defeated Elena Vesnina 6-2, 6-3 to take home her first Family Circle Cup title. Two years earlier, she was a finalist in the tournament losing to Sabine Lisicki.

Wozniacki’s return makes six past champions in the 2013 tournament: Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Sabine Lisicki, Jelena Jankovic and Sam Stosur.
