As part of its Access '12 initiative, the Redux Contemporary Art Center is joining with Art21 to presents a sneak preview in advance of the premiere of the sixth season of "Art in the Twenty-First Century," the only prime time national television series focused exclusively on contemporary art.
The event features a special showing of Art 21's History episode in conjunction with Redux's upcoming exhibit "The Plantation," featuring works by Colin Quashie. This event is free and open to the public and begins at 4 p.m. at 136 St. Philip St. on March 31.
The season premieres on PBS April 13 with a new episode each Friday during the April and May at 9 p.m. Through in-depth profiles and interviews, the four-part series "reveals the inspiration, vision and techniques behind the creative works of some of today's most thought-provoking artists."
