NILES, OHIO -- Former Citadel All-American Asher Wojciechowski sparkled in his professional baseball debut Tuesday night, pitching four shutout innings for the Auburn (N.Y.) Doubledays.

Wojciechowski, the No. 41 overall pick in the major league draft by the Blue Jays, allowed just three hits during his four-inning stint in a 5-0 win over Mahoning Valley in the short-season New York-Penn League.

The 6-4, 235-pound right-hander walked two and struck out two, but did not figure in the decision. Wojciechowski faced 15 batters, retiring eight by groundouts and two on fly balls, in front of a crowd of 3,662 at Eastwood Field.

Teammate Scott Gracey worked three innings to pick up the win.
