Charleston Southern wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Willy Korn is leaving the football program to accept a position at Coastal Carolina, according to multiple reports.

A source close to the CSU program confirmed that Korn is no longer actively recruiting for Charleston Southern. Attempts to reach Korn were unsuccessful.

Korn spent four seasons as the receivers coach at CSU and coordinated very successful recruiting classes while at the school.

Korn is a former Clemson quarterback who transferred to North Greenville where he played for then head coach Jamey Chadwell. He was hired by Chadwell at CSU when Chadwell became head coach in 2013.

Korn becomes the fourth CSU coach to leave the staff since Chadwell left to be the offensive coordinator at Coastal Carolina. Defensive coordinator Chad Staggs, linebackers coach Rod Wilson, and defensive line coach Skylor Magee all left CSU for jobs at Furman University.

Former CSU defensive backs coach Cory Peoples is expected to join coach Mark Tucker’s new staff at Charleston Southern. Several positions on Tucker’s staff remain open but announcements are expected soon on new hirings.
