West Ashley pitcher and shortstop Jonathan Sabo was named to the Class AAAA all-state team by the S.C. Baseball Coaches Association, and Wildcats coach Mitch Miggenburg was named the AAAA coach of the year.

Sabo led West Ashley to a region title and to the Lower State finals, where the Wildcats lost to top-ranked Sumter.

The Post and Courier's All-Lowcountry player of the year in 2013, Sabo hit .400 in 29 games this season, driving in 19 runs. As a pitcher, he was 9-1 with an 0.90 earned-run average.

Miggenburg, a former College of Charleston player, led the Wildcats to a 24-7 record, a Region 7-AAAA title and a district tournament championship.

James Island pitcher Daniel Wilcutt made the Class AAA all-state team, along with Mat Clark of Hilton Head and Kevin Woodall Jr. of Georgetown. The Lowcountry had no All State players in Class AA or Class A.
