GAFFNEY -- It was business as usual for Gaffney on Friday night.
The Indians scored on all five of their first-half possessions and cruised to a 52-27 victory against West Ashley in the first round of the Class AAAA Division I playoffs.
Gaffney (12-0) took advantage of a pair of poor West Ashley punts to take a 14-0 lead, but the Wildcats cut the deficit to 14-7, following a 16-play, 83-yard drive that took 6:50 off the clock, capped by a 1-yard run from quarterback Karon Eady on the first play of the second quarter.
But Gaffney bounced back grab a 31-7 halftime lead.
Gaffney outgained West Ashley 303-238 in offense, but was outrushed 140-113.
West Ashley (6-6) scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter after Gaffney emptied the bench. Eady connected on a 11-yard pass to Bryan Moore, followed by a 45-yard interception return by David Campbell.
Eady led the Wildcats with 11 carries for 56 yards, while Jamie Rivers added eight carries for 32 yards.
