SUMMERVILLE -- The Summerville softball team remained alive in the Class AAAA Lower State Championship Series with a 6-5 victory over Carolina Forest as Dani Halajcsik provided the heroics in the bottom of the seventh inning Monday.

Alexa Ritchie and Malori Myers were both 3-for-3 at the plate and Rochelle Lyda was 3-for-4. Summerville had 16 hits, including the game-winning single by Halajcsik in the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded. Myers was the winning pitcher, striking out 11. She gave up 10 hits and two earned runs. Carolina Forest made one error and Summerville two errors.

The Green Wave travels to Dutch Fork on Wednesday in an elimination game.
