Nine high school baseball players from area teams have been selected all-state by the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association. The organization released all-state teams in all four classifications, along with its final baseball rankings, on Tuesday.

Wando, the Class AAAA state champion, landed two players — pitcher Jeff Gottesman and catcher Noah LoCascio — on the AAAA all-state team. Wando, which opened the 2015 as the top-ranked team in AAAA, also finished as the top-ranked team in the final poll.

Summerville also had two players named to the AAAA all-state team — outfielder T.J. Hopkins and first baseman/pitcher Charlie Fessler. Summerville was ranked fifth in the final coaches’ poll.

Also named in AAAA were Ashley Ridge sophomore pitcher Josh Church and James Island senior pitcher Patrick Finklestein.

Berkeley pitcher Joe Glauser and Hanahan shortstop Bradley Meckley were named to the AAA all-state team, while Bishop England outfielder Jeffery Brown was named to the AA all-state team.
