GREENVILLE -- Blythewood claimed the Class AAAA state golf championship Tuesday with a 20-shot victory over Sumter.

Blythewood shot 896 for 54 holes at the Furman Golf Course, and Sumter was second with 916. Easley was third with 930 and Wando fourth at 931.

Fort Dorchester tied for sixth and James Island placed 16th.

Stephen Belk of West Florence won medalist honors with a 217. Wando's Caulder Moore was the only local golfer to finish in the top 10. He tied for seventh with a 225.
