MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Wando Warriors girls basketball team is rounding into form now that Region 7-AAAA play has begun.

The Warriors had a three-game losing streak, but that seems to be ancient history after Friday night's 42-37 region victory over Stratford.

The victory gave the Warriors two straight region wins and a 9-6 record overall. The Warriors posted an impressive 57-52 victory over West Ashley on Tuesday night and followed it up with a win over the Knights on Friday.

Wando jumped to a 13-4 lead at the end of one period, but the guests rallied to cut the deficit to 23-20 at halftime. But the Warriors outscored Stratford 11-5 in the third to take a nine-point lead into the final period.

The game showcased two of the top scorers in the Lowcountry: Wando's Tinsley Hallman and Stratford's Tiffany Addison. Both players were impressive. Hallman scored 27 points, while Addison tallied 23 for the Knights, who fell to 8-8, 0-2.

Wando also won the boys game, posting a 61-49 victory over Stratford.

Terrance Jenkins led Wando (14-2, 2-0) with 18 points and Elijah Legree tallied 13.

TeAndre Hansley led the Knights (9-7, 0-2) with 16 and Demetre Rivers scored 10.
