Winston-Salem, N.C. — Wake Forest scored six two-out runs in the fifth inning and blanked Clemson, 7-0, on Saturday to sweep the three-game series from the Tigers for the first time since 1999.
Clemson (32-24, 16-14 ACC) was shut out for the first time this season.
Wake Forest (32-22, 13-17) shut out the Tigers for the first time since 1969, a span of 130 games.
Brian Holmes (7-2) went six scoreless innings and combined with six relievers on the four-hit shutout.
Brad Felder went 1 for 2 with a walk for the Tigers, who finished in a tie for fifth place with Miami in the ACC overall standings.
