WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest exploded for eight runs in the decisive fourth inning en route to a 9-5 win over Clemson in Atlantic Coast Conference baseball Friday.

Clemson (32-18, 14-11 ACC) had its seven-game winning streak snapped.

The Tigers led the Demon Deacons (14-35, 5-20) 1-0 after three innings on an RBI single by Mike Freeman before Wake Forest came alive in the fourth.

Austin Stadler (3-3) went 6 2/3 innings to earn the win, tying his career high with 11 strikeouts for Wake Forest.

Casey Harman (6-2) took the loss in 3 1/3 innings.

Clemson trailed 9-2 before mounting a rally in the ninth. John Hinson hit a two-run homer, his 12th of the season, to score Kyle Parker. Brad Miller followed with a solo homer, his fourth of the season, to cut the lead to four.

But Wake Forest was able to get the final out and hang on.

Mac Williamson had two home runs and four RBIs for the Demon Deacons.

Clemson and Wake Forest will play agains today at 6 p.m.
