Preston Durham, a 6-2, 205-pound linebacker from Chapman High School, verbally committed to The Citadel football program.

Durham suffered a season-ending broken leg in his team's fourth game last year, but still recorded 55 1/2 tackles, five for loss, with two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He's also an all-state chorus performer, a standout wrestler and ranked second academically in his class.

He also considered Furman and Lenoir-Rhyne.

"Just the structure of the school was the biggest thing I liked," Durham told goupstate.com. "Some places you have to take the initiative to be focused and there you are forced. I like that. They keep you on the straight and narrow."

The Citadel also got a recent commitment from running back/defensive back TeMyrick Mosely, a 5-11, 185-pounder from Dunwoody (Ga.) High School.
