UNC Asheville 5, Charleston Southern 4

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The University of North Carolina Asheville (15-32, 8-16) won its second game of the series on its final at-bat when Robert McIntosh delivered an RBI single in the ninth inning for a 5-4 Big South victory at McCormick Field. The follow-up to Saturday's two-run ninth for a 4-3 victory wiped out a 4-for-5 game from Charleston Southern's (17-34, 6-17) Nick Chinners and a complete game effort from starter Andrew White.

White (1-6) pitched all 8 2/3 innings and tied his career high with seven strikeouts. He allowed five runs (four earned) on 11 hits. Four of those runs came in the first frame. Even more impressive is the fact he pitched the whole game despite a rain delay in the bottom of the fifth. He allowed only three extra-base hits, which were all doubles.

With the series sweep, the Bulldogs put themselves 1 1/2 games ahead ofCSU in the race for the eighth and final spot in the Big South tournament.

Both teams have one more weekend series left, as the Bucs will play host to High Point University and UNCA will take on Gardner-Webb.
