Clemson righthanders Dominic Leone and David Haselden combined on a six-hit shutout of Georgia Tech in the Tigers’ 9-0 victory to open the ACC Tournament Wednesday in Durham. N.C.

Tigers outfielder Jeff Schaus had four hits, and Chris Epps hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning for the game’s first scoring. Clemson hopes a strong showing in Durham will lead to hosting an NCAA Regional. The Tigers improve to 40-17 overall.

After a rocky start at Florida State last weekend broke a personal streak of five straight wins, Leone responded with five shutout innings, striking out five while allowing four hits and four walks.

Clemson plays No. 2 seed Florida State at 3 p.m. Thursday.
