About Hilton: One of the best linemen in the state, Hilton had a solid senior season to earn all-region honors. Hilton was almost unblockable and recorded 101 tackles this season, including 66 solo stops and 29 1/2 tackles for loss, to be selected to play in the North-South game.

About Middleton: He didn't play football until his junior year, but he's made up for lost time with offers from South Carolina State, Coastal Carolina and others. He started as a junior and had a big senior year, recording 111 tackles for the Wolves, including 18 tackles for a loss and 12 sacks.

About Turner: The Gators were second in the state among Class AAAA teams in scoring defense and led the state in rushing defense, and Turner had a big role. The junior, who has already been offered by Clemson and South Carolina, recorded 49 tackles, including 36 solo stops.

About Burrell: Burell was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl and the Offense-Defense All-American Game after helping the Gators win the Division II-AAAA state championship. He recorded 105 tackles, including 12 for a loss and three sacks. He intercepted a pass and recorded a safety.

About Lucas: No player for Timberland had a more impressive spring than Lucas, who was offered a scholarship by Miami of Ohio based on his efforts during workouts and practices in May. His transformation continued in the fall, when he made 114 tackles, including 22 for a loss and 12 sacks.

Height: 5-11. Weight: 210

About Swails: Division II-AA state champion Bishop England allowed only 6.5 points per game, and Swails had a big role in the defense's success. He led the team with 146 tackles, including 82 solo stops. He had 12 tackles for a loss, recovered a fumble and intercepted two passes.

About Bennett: A two-time first-team All-Lowcountry selection, Bennett had 147 tackles, including two for a loss. He had two sacks and blocked two punts. He's been named all-region for two years and was named the Berkeley County defensive player of the year.

About White: A two-year first-team selection, White capped his career by being selected to play in the Shrine Bowl. This year, he recorded 113 tackles, including 82 solo stops. He forced three fumbles and recovered two. He averaged 10.8 yards per punt return and returned one for a TD.

Height: 6-3. Weight: 170

About Mayes: A playmaker on both sides of the ball, he had 50 tackles, broke up 10 passes and tallied six interceptions and blocked a punt. He also was a productive receiver with 23 receptions for 334 yards and seven touchdowns. He handled the punting duties and averaged 36 yards per kick.

About Robinson: One of the best athletes in the state, Robinson was physical enough to play linebacker, but switched to safety when the Gators faced teams that featured a strong passing attacks. He had 112 tackles and five interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.

About Brown: Brown excelled on offense, defense and special teams and was selected to play in the North-South game. He fared well in the all-star game with four tackles and two pass break-ups. He also played wide receiver and caught 26 passes for 394 yards and three touchdowns.

Height: 6-4. Weight: 170

About Clark: Clark handled kickoff and punting duties for the Eagles and was selected to play in the North-South game. He had 45 kicks that went for touchbacks and averaged 40 yards per punt. Clark was recognized as the top kicking prospect at the Ray Guy camp in May.
