The Citadel 10, USC Upstate 3

SPARTANBURG -- The Citadel rebounded from its first home shutout loss in five years with a rout of USC Upstate at Harley Park.

The Bulldogs (31-20) tied their season high with five stolen bases and pounded out 14 hits while keeping the USC Upstate (16-35) offense in check most of the night, beating them by the same score for a second time this season. The Citadel won at Riley Park on March 10 in the previous matchup.

Kyle Jordan and Grant Richards each went 3 for 5 with two RBIs for the Bulldogs. Bryan Altman added three RBIs and a stolen base.

Matt Reifsnider picked up the win in relief, going 4 2/3 innings. Jeffrey Spillane made his first career start and went 3 1/3 innings.

The Citadel returns to Riley Park for their final home games of the season in a three-game set with UNC Greensboro, beginning Friday at 4 p.m.
