Team USA wins Can-Am Junior Team Matches at Wachesaw

A team of American golfers rolled to a 44.5-27.5 victory over their Canadian counterparts in the Can-Am Junior Team Matches played at Wachesaw Plantation in Murrells Inlet on March 19-20.

The event featured top junior golfers from the Golf Association of Ontario playing against a team of South Carolina players.

Charleston juniors Zach Adams, Rowan Sullivan and Luke Walmet were members of the South Carolina boys' team.

The Canadian team won in 2019, the last time the matches were contested.

Amateurs win Palmetto Cup Matches

South Carolina's top amateur golfers bested their professional counterparts, 25-17, and reclaimed the trophy in the annual Palmetto Cup Matches played at the Woodcreek Club in Elgin. The teams, which represented  the S.C. Golf Association and the S.C. PGA, included four seniors and 10 non-seniors.

The amateurs took a 12-9 lead after the opening day of captain's choice and won the second day's four-ball competition, 13-8, to claim the overall title.

The amateurs lead the series, 22-14-1.
