Sumter blitzes visiting Stratford, 38-0


SUMTER -- Russell Jenkins, Colin Washington and Rodney Pitts ran for touchdowns as Sumter blitzed visiting Stratford, 38-0, on Friday night.

The Knights fell to 1-1, while Sumter improved to 2-1.

The Gamecocks led 21-0 after the first quarter. The game’s start was delayed by lightning.

Quentin Anderson scored on a 4-yard run in the second quarter to make the halftime score 28-0. Sumter rushed for 160 yards in the first half.

Washington caught a 76-yard TD pass from Alec Brumback in the second half and Brixton Niebuhr kicked a field goal.
