About 5,000 Comcast cable television customers went without service for most of Wednesday after an equipment malfunction, a spokesman for the company said Thursday.
The outage began Tuesday evening and lasted until Wednesday night. It mainly affected customers in Mount Pleasant, Comcast spokesman Brian Farley said.
"For some customers, service was out for a full day," he said.
Service was fully restored late Wednesday, Farley said.
Customers with questions about an adjustment to their bills because of the outage should call 1-800-COMCAST.
"This is best handled on a case-by-case basis since it appears that while some customers were impacted by the technical problems, others may not have been," Farley said. "We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers."
