More than 100 boats with nearly 150 sailors competed in the annual Carolina Yacht Club Regatta, an event that concluded July 31.
The Carolina regatta was the fourth of five local summer sailing events in the Lowcountry. The summer season concludes next weekend with the Rockville Regatta.
The weather cooperated nicely with no rain over the two days, the first regatta this summer that was not affected by stormy conditions. Winds were fairly light and variable all weekend.
Sailors from several states competed in the CYC regatta, which also had an international flair this year. Winning the ILCA 6 division was Kelly-Ann Arrindell, who sailed out of the Trinidad and Tobago sailing association.
Three divisions were won by sailors competing out of the home yacht club with other divisions won by the Carolina Yacht Club of North Carolina, the James Island Yacht Club, the Columbia Sailing Club and the South Carolina Yacht Club.
Official awards and results are scheduled to be released Aug. 2. Following is the unofficial results as posted after the second day of competition.
