GREENVILLE -- Goaltender Jason Missiaen kicked away all 38 shots and forward Brendan Connolly broke a scoreless tie in the third period to give the Greenville Road Warriors a 2-0 ECHL victory over the South Carolina Stingrays at the Bi-Lo Center on Tuesday night.
The Stingrays (15-13-2) turned up the pressure in the second period firing 19 shots on Missiaen, but the goalie kept the Rays off the board by making several big saves, including stops in the crease on forward Sean Dolan during a 5-on-3 power play.
The Road Warriors (16-9-2) broke the scoreless tie at 6:24 of the final period, when Connolly lifted a shot over the right shoulder of Stingrays goalie Daren Machesney (26 saves on 28 shots) from between the faceoff circles. Forwards Connor Shields and Sean Berkstresser picked up assists.
Forward Brendon Wong sealed the victory for the Road Warriors at 17:23 off assists from Brett Robinson and Francis Meilleur.

The Stingrays wrap up a three-game road trip at 7 p.m. today against the Gwinnett Gladiators and return to the North Charleston Coliseum at 6 p.m. Saturday against the Florida Everblades.
