The College of Charleston (21-9, 13-2) rolled to a 3-0 win over The Citadel (8-21, 1-14) in a Southern Conference volleyball match Tuesday at McAlister Field House.

The South Division-leading Cougars won, 25-14, 25-9, 25-10. They hit a season-best .458, led by Elyse Chubb with 12 kills. The Bulldogs' Rachael Farrell had six kills.

College soccer

Midfielder Sean de Silva and defender Shawn Ferguson made the first team to highlight four College of Charleston players who earned All-Southern Conference men's soccer honors.

Cougars forward Andy Craven made the second team, and midfielder Troy Peterson made the all-freshman team.

Basketball recruiting

Point guard Adonis Filer, a Chicago native who attends school in Massachusetts, committed to Clemson on Tuesday, becoming the Tigers' fifth pledge for the 2012 class.

Filer, who picked Clemson over Tennessee, Utah and Purdue, made his official visit Oct. 22. He plans to sign today, the first of the early signing period.

College golf

Anna Martin finished tied for 24th individually at 225 as the College of Charleston women placed ninth (907) in the 14-team Challenge at Onion Creek in Austin, Texas.
