CLEMSON – The Clemson football team already had concerns along its offensive front and now it has some more.

The program announced Wednesday evening that starting left guard David Smith will have arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder Thursday and will miss Saturday’s game versus Auburn. No timetable for his return was announced. Smith, a senior, has made 16 career starts and has been a starter since the beginning of last season.

Mason Cloy, the team’s former starting center who has seen reserve duty at guard, will start against Auburn.
