Start time of Citadel’s SoCon Tournament game pushed back

The start time of The Citadel’s Southern Conference baseball tournament game against Georgia Southern will be pushed back. The game was originally scheduled for 5 p.m. today in Greenville.

The tourney was thrown off schedule by Elon’s 14-12 win over College of Charleston in a game that began at 10 a.m. and took nearly four hours to play. The second game, featuring Western Carolina and Furman, began almost two hours late. The Bulldogs’ game will start 45 minutes after the conclusion of that contest.

The Citadel, seeded No. 7, will start freshman pitcher Kevin Connell against the No. 6 seeded Eagles. The Bulldogs upset No. 2 College of Charleston by 8-6 on Wednesday, while Georgia Southern pounded No. 3 Elon, 19-2.
