Jonothan Smith and Tom Bullock went one better Sunday, posting an 8-under-par 64 for a two-round total of 129, to win the Charleston City Four-Ball Championship at Municipal Golf Course.

Women's Mid-Amateur

Lea Anne Brown of Mount Pleasant shot a 6-over-par 78 to finish the qualifying portion at 162. Brown finished in a nine-way tie for 59th, and will play off for six spots in the 64-player match play draw today at Wichita (Kan.) Country Club.

Men's Mid-Amateur

Frank Ford III of Charleston shot a 5-over-par 77 for a 155 total in the qualifying portion of the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship being played at Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y. It took a score of 153 to make it into the 64-player match-play portion of the tournament.

Nathan Smith of Pittsburgh, who won last year's Mid-Amateur played at Kiawah Island Club's Cassique Course, shared low-scoring honors at even-par 144 along with Tim Hogarth of Northridge, Calif., and Scott Harvey of Greensboro, N.C.
