DAVISON, N.C. — Davidson’s Henry Sisson pitched a complete game to lead the Wildcats to a 6-2 win over The Citadel in the teams’ Southern Conference baseball series opener Friday night.
Sisson (4-2) scattered six hits and allowed two runs to lead the Wildcats (17-26, 8-17 SoCon).
Calvin Orth had two hits for the Bulldogs (20-27, 9-13), while Austin Pritcher (5-4) allowed five runs on seven hits in 51/3 innings.
The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before the Bulldogs got on the board in the third on on RBI double by Mason Davis.
Davidson, though, tacked on one run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to take control.
In the sixth, The Citadel managed to score one run on an RBI single by Bo Thompson.
But Davidson added another run in the eighth and held on for the victory.
