CLEMSON - Right-handed starting pitcher Daniel Gossett picked up first-team honors and second baseman Steve Wilkerson was named 2nd-team all-conference for the third time in his career when all-ACC baseball squads were announced Monday by the league office.

Seven of the 48 players nominated play for the Tigers, who finished fifth in the ACC standings. Wilkerson, designated hitter Garrett Boulware and shortstop Tyler Krieger were on the second unit while southpaw starter Matthew Crownover and outfielders Steven Duggar and Jay Baum were named to the third team.

Gossett (7-1, 1.74 ERA) is Clemson's first top-squad starting pitcher since D.J. Mitchell in 2008. Wilkerson's five home runs and 38 RBIs lead Clemson, and of the seven all-conference Tigers, he is the only senior.

So begins watch list season in college football, when almost anybody with a pulse is considered a contender for postseason individual accolades.

Clemson junior center Ryan Norton is one of 64 names on the Rimington Award Watch List, and one of seven ACC blockers prospectively in contention as the nation's top center.
