GREENVILLE -- Three Greenville pitchers combined to limit Charleston to six hits as the Drive downed the RiverDogs, 4-1, in South Atlantic League baseball Friday night in front of 5,213 at Fluor Field.
Charleston (15-19, 41-63 overall) dropped its fourth straight. Greenville (18-16, 56-48 overall) won its fourth straight.
The RiverDogs scored first, breaking through in the third when Garrison Lassiter scored on a fielding error. Lassiter had reached on a walk and moved to third on a double by Jose Mojica.
But that was all the offense the RiverDogs would muster against Kyle Stroup, Tyler Lockwood (5-6) and Michael Gleason.
The Drive went in front in the sixth inning on a solo homer by Sean Coyle off Steve Evarts (1-4). Greenville added two runs in the eighth on a Henry Ramos RBI single and an RBI double by Xander Bogaerts.
Evarts went six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks to go with five strikeouts.
Greenville and Charleston play again at 7 p.m. today. RiverDogs right-hander Shane Greene (3-10, 4.06 ERA) will face right-hander Brandon Workman (2-6, 4.25 ERA).
