CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Jose Osuna’s solo homer broke a tie in the seventh inning and helped the West Virginia Power (12-24) salvage the final game of their four-game series against the Charleston RiverDogs (24-10) with a 3-1 win on Sunday.
Osuna’s homer led off the seventh inning against pitcher Wilton Rodriguez (1-1), who had just come in to relieve starter Scottie Allen. Alen Hanson then tagged Rodriguez with a solo shot of his own in the eighth, making the score 3-1. Josh Poytress (2-0), who came on for the Power in the seventh, threw the last three innings without allowing a run to pick up the win.
The RiverDogs return home to Riley Park today to start an eight-game homestand. They begin with three games against the Savannah Sand Gnats. First pitch today is at 7:05 p.m.
