Salisbury, MD. -- Shane Greene threw seven shutout innings to back up a Charleston offense which racked up 16 hits as the RiverDogs defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds, 11-0, in a South Atlantic League game Tuesday.

Charleston (11-15) snapped a five-game losing streak while Delmarva (16-10) saw its 11-game winning streak end.

Greene (2-2) rediscovered his ace form, tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing just three base hits and a walk, fanning five in the process.

J.R. Murphy got the RiverDogs going in the first, driving a double to left-center off Shorebirds starter Tim Berry (0-1). Slade Heathcott scored from first base, giving Charleston a 1-0 lead.

Murphy was part of the action again in the third, as the RiverDogs staged a two-out rally to forge a 3-0 advantage.

Charleston continued to pour it on with three more runs off Berry in the fourth, pushing the cushion to 6-0.

The three-run fourth spelled the end of Berry's day, as the left-hander allowed six runs -- four earned -- on eight hits, walking one and striking out three.

Eduardo Sosa and Rob Segedin powered home runs to headline a four-run seventh off Delmarva reliever Cameron Roth as Charleston took a commanding 10-0 lead.

Sosa put the finishing touches on a 3-for-4 outing in the ninth, rapping an RBI double to plate Kyle Roller for an 11-0 lead.

The RiverDogs have the day off today before returning to Riley Park to open an eight-game homestand on Thursday with a 7 p.m. game against the Lakewood BlueClaws.
