EDISTO BEACH -- Reel Passion, the overall leader in the South Carolina Governor's Cup Billfishing Series, caught and released four sailfish Friday to take the lead in the Edisto Marina Billfish Tournament, the final event of the 2011 Governor's Cup. The tournament ends today.

Reel Passion, owned by Bill Ingram and captained by Gary Richardson, has used its two allotted fishing days and has 1,800 points for releasing a total of nine sailfish. Sadie Beth, owned by Gage Blue and captained by Howard Moseley, also used its final day of fishing and released two sailfish Friday to finish the tournament with 1,600 points. Lil' Bit released one sail and finished with 1,000 points.

Boats are allowed to fish two out of three days, captain's choice, and 10 of 20 boats entered in the event fished Friday, releasing 14 sailfish. The overall total for the fleet is 40 sailfish releases along with one blue marlin. The boat with the highest point total that still has a day of fishing remaining is Rascal, which has 600 points.

There was one change in the non-billfish categories, a 19.8-pound tuna caught aboard Trick'em. Trashman has the top dolphin, 25.6 pounds, and Laff-A-Lot has the top wahoo, 41.4 pounds.
