Charleston Southern failed to hold on to a one-run lead in the ninth inning, giving up two runs to Presbyterian on defensive miscues in a loss at CSU Ballpark.

The Buccaneers (27-25, 14-10 Big South) remain in third place in the conference standings.

Starting pitcher Jesse Cadenhead went 8 1/3 innings for the Bucs, six of which were scoreless. He allowed only two earned runs and struck out eight.

Steven Richardson pitched a complete game for the Blue Hose (21-31, 6-18).

Sophomore Jaren Sustar continued his good hitting with a 3-for-4 performance. He is 13 for 18 in his last four games.

CSU returns to action Tuesday for the final home game of the season against Georgia Southern. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
