Pine Forest wins second straight Interclub match

Pine Forest won its second straight Charleston Area Men’s Interclub Golf Association Match, played at Summerville Country Club, scoring 15 points to runner-up RiverTowne’s 12 points. Charleston National was third with 11 points, followed by Coosaw Creek, 10, and Shadowmoss, 9.

Coosaw Creek’s Bill Cattorini was the top individual with 17 points. Rich Mudrick of Wescott was second with 14 and Herb Whetsell of Charleston Municipal third with 12.

Pine Forest also jumped from sixth into a tie for first with Crowfield in the seasonal standings. Both have 72.5 points. Coosaw Creek is third with 71.5, followed by Charleston Municipal, 70, and Stono Ferry, 69.

Aug. 22: The fourth annual Coastal Center Cup Benefit Golf Tournament will be played at Wescott Golf Club. The entry fee is $75 per player or $300 per team. The registration deadline is Aug. 10.
