Representatives from the PGA of America will join Kiawah Island Golf Resort officials Friday to announce that the PGA Championship is returning to the Ocean Course in 2021.

Derek Sprague, president of the PGA of America, and Kerry Haigh, chief championships officer of the organization, are scheduled to participate in the morning news conference along with Gov. Nikki Haley, Kiawah Island Golf Resort chairman Bill Goodwin and resort president Roger Warren. Course architect Pete Dye also will be in attendance.

The Ocean Course was the site of the 2012 PGA Championship won by Rory McIlroy, and also hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup. Two other PGA of America tournaments — 2005 Club Professional Championship and 2007 Senior PGA Championship — also were held on the course.

Sites for future PGA Championships have been announced through 2020.
