KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- Charleston's Jimmy Paredes collected five hits, including a 4-for-4 performance in the second game, to help the RiverDogs rebound from a 7-1 loss in the opener and take the nightcap, 10-6, in South Atlantic League baseball action at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

In Game 2, Charleston trailed 3-1 before erupting for a season-high six runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-3 lead. Paredes blasted a three-run home run over the center-field wall, to cap the inning.

Luke Murton added his seventh home run of the year in the fifth to increase the margin to 8-3.

In Game 1, Kannapolis loaded the bases in the bottom of the first against RiverDogs starter Kelvin Perez, and Brady Shoemaker unloaded them with a grand slam to center for a quick 4-0 lead.

Shoemaker drilled his second home run of the game in the fifth inning, making the score 7-0.

The final game of this set is scheduled for a 1 p.m. today. Charleston southpaw Josh Romanski is making his first start of the season.
