Justin Greene continued his torrid hitting for Class AA Mobile on Monday night, going 3 for 5 with two doubles, two stolen bases and a run scored.
The outfielder from Stratford High School, a 20th-round draft choice in 2008, is now batting .336 with seven doubles and 14 steals. He’s 6 for 10 in the last two games and is batting .421 over the last 10.
Elsewhere among Lowcountry players in pro baseball:
• Catcher John Murrian (Stratford HS, Winthrop) returned from the disabled list, going 0 for 4 with a run scored in his first game since April 30. He’s batting .152 with a homer and seven RBI in 14 games.
• Chris McGuiness (James Island, The Citadel) went 0 for 6, but drove in a run for Class AAA Round Rock with a groundout. He’s batting .275 with 33 RBI.
• Marty Gantt (Mount Pleasant, College of Charleston) was 0 for 2 with a walk and a stolen base for Class A Bowling Green, and is batting .304 with eight steals.
In the majors:
• Brett Gardner (Holly Hill, College of Charleston) delivered a two-run single in the sixth inning and the Yankees defeated the Indians, 7-4. Gardner was 1 for 4 and is batting .256 with 23 RBI.
